For nearly five years, Scott and Shayna waited for the chance to climb Mount Elbrus, Europe’s highest peak. They had originally planned to climb it after Denali in 2021, but the conflict in the region forced them to put those plans on hold. When they finally got the opportunity, it took more than a month to secure the visas needed to make the expedition possible. But the wait was worth it. On June 13, 2026, at 6:45 a.m., they finally stood on the summit of Mount Elbrus at 18,510 feet, making it their sixth continental summit of the Seven Summits. There’s also an ongoing debate over whether Elbrus in Russia or Mont Blanc in France should be considered the highest peak in Europe. Rather than choosing sides, Scott and Shayna decided to climb both. They summited Mont Blanc back on August 21, 2022.
