ACONCAGUA

FIRST ALL-DEAF TEAM

On January 3, 2020 Scott and Shayna became
the first all-Deaf team to summit South America's
tallest mountain, Aconcagua.
Aconcagua | Scott & Shayna

Scott and Shayna first climbed Aconcagua in 2018 when they were on their six-month South America overland trip. The night before their summit bid, a snowstorm passed through. Their attempt to reach the summit with a meter of fresh snow was unsuccessful, which meant they had to turn back down, but the dream of reaching the summit never left their minds. A year and half later, Scott and Shayna returned to climb Aconcagua for the second time. On January 3, 2020, they became the first all-deaf team to reach the summit of Aconcagua.
